Chloe Rose and her husband Chris Litras tied the knot in a fairytale wedding at the dreamy Villa Astor in Sorrento, overlooking the Amalfi coast which brought the Italian magic to the day. It was a late spring wedding on 23 May 2024, leading into the perfect start to a first summer together as a married couple.
The Journey
Just like most girls, I had always dreamed of the day I would get to go try on wedding dresses. I was so excited for it!
I started my wedding dress journey last February, as I had a heads-up from previous brides to start early. I booked 4-5 appointments, all in one weekend when my mom and sister were visiting town. Going into the process, the one thing I always knew was that whatever dress I chose would have a bespoke element.
The Vision
I was open-minded when it came to trying on dresses, so through each of my appointments, I tried as many styles as possible to help narrow down and rule out the ones I knew were not ‘me’.
I do have my younger self to thank, as I had been saving dress styles on Pinterest for the last few years— and looking back, I actually did have a certain style I kept leaning towards: a dress which was timeless, chic with a different modern twist.
I also kept gravitating towards the Mikado material, as I loved how it was a softer cream rather than stark white which also worked with my skin tone.
The Decision
I loved the full process— I found it fun and quite easy, and this all came down to knowing my style. There is so much pressure when it comes to finding ‘the one’, but I really tried to put those thoughts to the back of my head and just go for the one that felt right.
When I knew, I knew, and literally started dancing around the shop in my dress as it made me feel so good! It was an instant ‘yes’ moment for me with my Pronovias wedding dress, with the same reassurance from my sister and mom.
The Style Support
I brought my mom, sister, and best friend to the initial appointments, as I always wanted to experience that moment with them and get their second opinions. However, after that I went to all the other fittings and my appointments for my second dress on my own, because I was confident I knew what I wanted.
I always had a vision for myself, and did not want to have a lot of people’s opinions to change it. I also didn’t show my dress or second looks to anyone besides my family and best friend—I wanted to keep it special for the day.
The Evening Look
I had a second look, as comfort is key for the evening to make sure you are really able to let your hair down and dance the night away. Especially working within the fashion industry, having an evening look was a fun excuse to play dress up for a second time (I even contemplated a third look!)
I was secretly more excited to wear my second look in the lead-up than my ceremony dress, as I found it to be less pressure and more fun. I ended up changing into it before the first dance which was never the plan— but it was the best decision!
The Accessories
I initially struggled to find a veil that suited the dress. Then at my second dress fitting with Pronovias I tried on one which matched my dress , and featured a the Mikado finish on the waterfall trim. For my shoes, I purchased the Amina Muaddi courts last-minute, as I wanted a shoe with a smaller and thicker heel to avoid sinking in the grass and would be comfortable (or as comfortable a heel can be).
For the finishing touches of jewellery, I wanted to keep it quite simple. I matched my gold tennis bracelet with my wedding band, which both have beautiful heart details on the inside. Both pieces are by Recarlo Jewellery, which is an Italian brand (very fitting) and were sourced through a friend at Frost of London—which is where Chris also had my engagement ring made. Finally, my earrings were Jennifer Behr.
The Second Day Outfits
Whilst trying on looks for my second dress, I also found another dress I loved, and knew I had to wear it for the night before. It was a beautiful Halfpenny London mini in a similar Mikado material as my wedding dress, so it seemed like the perfect extension to my bridal looks. I finished the look with a fun pair of heels featuring oversized tulle bows.
We also hosted a few other events before and after the ceremony, so I had multiple opportunities to style other looks— one of the best parts of having a destination wedding. We hosted a welcome dinner and a recovery beach day, where I wore an ethereal one-shoulder dress from Reiss with Manolo Blahnik heels and Jennifer Behr earrings, as a nod to my wedding day accessories.
Advice For Brides
Start early, as it can be overwhelming, it’s best to give yourself enough time and factor in alternations. My body changed a lot within the last few months of my wedding, so try to schedule your last fitting as close to the date as possible.
My last piece of advice is having fun: just try to take the pressure off, and wear something you are comfortable that will stand the test of time and is not just trend-led.
Favourite Photo
I love these images on the balcony which were snapped after cocktails as it was heading into golden hour before dinner, the lighting was a lot softer, and we were more relaxed after mingling with our guests.
It was a moment me and Chris had alone to soak it all in, the lighting and settings were perfect looking out over the coast and it felt magic. I remember in this moment feeling so happy, all the nerves had gone, and we were just so excited. We really wanted our pictures to be snapped in the moment and more candid, so these captured the dress & us perfectly – a moment I won’t ever forget.
