The Story
Eshita is the Founder and CEO of By Rotation. Born in Rajasthan, brought up in Singapore and having lived in the US and now UK, her ideal wedding and guest list was always going to be multicultural and well-travelled. James, born and brought up in Berkshire, is a Partner at an AI strategy consultancy firm. The two met while planning a conference – James was the President and Eshita was the Vice-President, and the rest is history! James proposed to Eshita at her favourite hotel the Connaught, after surprising her with a room booking after a martini. We get the inside scoop from Eshita herself on her Buckinghamshire wedding where cultures beautifully collide…
We Chose To Get Married At…
Hedsor House, Buckinghamshire because my husband grew up in Cookham, which is across the venue. It’s also an incredibly beautiful estate with the largest bridal suite in Europe apparently!
The Best Part Of Our Buckinghamshire Wedding Was…
The religious Hindu ceremony “Phere” on the second day. It was so beautiful and inclusive – our priest ensured his Sanskrit and Hindi prayers were also translated into English for all our guests.
I Knew I Found ‘The One’ When…
I was actually utterly confused and I had 4 wedding outfits for our wedding ceremony, and another for our civil ceremony. I did however know that my Mehendi outfit by designer Anushree Reddy was “the One” from the moment I saw it – it had a flattering neckline and came in my favourite colour combination: green and pink – coincidentally also the brand colours of By Rotation!
The Most Enjoyable Moments Of Planning Were…
Planning the various themes for each one of our 4 events. I was so excited to see how our guests would interpret them… I am known to love Halloween!
The Hardest Parts Of Planning Were…
Table seating plans! Our wedding was small by Indian standards (240 people) but large by the venue’s standards so we had to split our guests into 2 ballrooms. It was a tricky balance but I think we managed to have our guests mingle throughout the 2 days!

My Top 3 Tips For Any Couple Would Be…
- Have a budget and stick to it.
- Where possible, reach out to smaller suppliers and vendors – they often will provide unique creations for your wedding which is more exciting than the mainstream arrangements we all see.
- Invest in large Diptyque candles of your favourite scent and light them up in your entire venue. People will remember your wedding scent forever!
If I Was To Do It All Over Again, I Would Change This…
Spread our 4 events across 3 days, rather than 2. It was a bit too hectic!
