Robert is a farmer and Sarah is co-founder of Doggart & Squash, a fabulous London based events and catering company. The couple met celebrating New Years Eve with mutual friends in a pub and had a beautiful garden wedding at Sarah’s family home in Cambridgeshire.
The best part of our day was….
I loved every moment – in particular the church. We then walked back to my parents house with all our guests. It was the most beautiful day and being outside in the garden, in the sunshine with the greatest company was so special. Having both had hectic summers with work, having all our favourite people around us was just incredible.
We choose to get married at…
My parents house. I have lived there all my life and always been to the church in the village. There was never another option!
I knew I found ‘The One’ when….
I was looking for dresses during Covid times. I knew I didn’t want anything too formal and always wanted to be able to rewear some part of it. So I chose a Catherine Deane dress and got a top made which I will be able to wear again and again.
The most enjoyable moments of planning were…
We used the amazing Lex Hamilton to create our beautiful flowers. Speaking through everything with her was great fun and made me so excited to see it all come together. The part we didn’t expect to enjoy so much was sorting the order of service… especially choosing the hymns.
The hardest part of planning was…
Finding the time to plan my wedding alongside planning clients weddings! Rob was so busy on the farm that I did a lot with my Mum and Sister and brilliant bridesmaids.
The best accounts to follow on Instagram for big-day inspo are…
I would obviously have to say the Doggart & Squash and the brilliant suppliers that we work with.
My top three tips for any couple would be…
- Don’t get stressed with the planning. Choose amazing suppliers that you trust and they will help you.
- Make the most of every second of the day – it goes far too fast!
- Go away after – make sure you don’t go straight back to work as you are on such a high.
