On average 181kg of general waste is produced from a wedding due to the excessive amount of ‘single-use’ items. Carbon neutral weddings
For couples who want to take their sustainable wedding one step further, carbon neutral weddings are the way to go!
An increase in intimate wedding ceremonies has resulted in couples eager to take their wedding abroad. However, the beautiful seafront ceremony and the ability to dine and dance in the warm open air require various flights and transportation for the wedding party, resulting in a higher carbon footprint. To reduce the impact this has on the planet, actions such as planting trees and funding renewable energy sources can help to ‘offset’ the amount of carbon released.
We hope to see couples, suppliers and venues working to try and reduce their carbon footprint during the planning process, making weddings in the future much more sustainable.
