Why Dénia?
I had no idea where we were going until I got there, but I’d told my sister I wanted to be by the sea and somewhere with relaxed fun vibes. We risked the weather as it was the last week of April but we landed on our feet with a Spanish heatwave and it was perfect! I’d highly recommend Dénia to anyone now, for a hen weekend or otherwise!
Where we stayed…
We stayed in an INCREDIBLE Airbnb, the photos do it absolutely no justice it was absolutely stunning with views of the mountains as a backdrop and really beautifully finished interiors.
What we did…
We arrived on the Friday night and had drinks in the villa, a perfect opportunity for all the girls to connect and get to know each other. On Saturday we woke up and had a beautiful breakfast in the villa before getting dressed up for an afternoon at the Zensa Beach Club where we danced (and drank) the afternoon away! By some miracle all thirteen girls made it back to the villa and changed for dinner (courtesy of my wonderful sister & MOH) before heading out to Sounders to dance into the morning under the stars. Sunday was a slower morning debriefing in the sun before playing Mr & Mrs (shout out to my future husband for making every girl in that room cry!) and then heading out on a catamaran for sunset before our final dinner. On the Monday we headed into Valencia for tapas before begrudgingly saying our farewells.
Where we ate…
We ate at the villa a lot (my sister was an exceptional host, with gorgeous salads and spreads for breakfast and lunch!) but on our final night we had dinner at Casa Federico in Dénia where the paella was divine and before we flew we had tapas at Casa Montaña which I would highly recommend!
What we packed…
I obviously took the opportunity to wear almost exclusively white for the weekend! My favourite outfits were my rented (via HURR) Aje dress that I wore on Saturday night and classically took no good photos, and my final night look featuring white linen trousers, a sparkly mesh top and my favourite glittering accessories! I do have to add a special mention for my favourite new bikini from essentials for zula which was allowed in despite my all white rule!
Best moment of the hen weekend…
Honestly the whole thing was an absolute dream and my sister just did the most amazing job. But the best bit of it all was just watching all my favourite women fall in love with each other. It is daunting to bring so many different friendship groups together but the girls keep coming to me to say how much they loved each other and I cannot wait to see them all reunite on the big day!
