Why Paris?
My sister/maid of honour; Aimee-Rose and I decided Paris because who doesn’t want to go to Paris and visit the City of Love with your bride tribe. We wanted the hen to be chic, but also a destination that was easy to get to for my UK and international friends. The Hens were also very excited to make a holiday out of the occasion.
Where we stayed…
We stayed at the Hotel Bowman, a beautiful boutique Parisian hotel. My room even had touches of pink, perfect for me, who is pink obsessed! It was in the most idyllic location, easy to walk and order taxis to and from our reservations.
What we did…
The pre-hen began on Thursday morning when I received a video from my maid of honour. She had organised all my hens to participate in the cutest compilation of messages, building up the excitement – ‘The Hen is going to be Henning’. Naturally, I cried tears of joy with how wonderful it was, the cutest surprise!
The Warm Up: The Hen officially commenced on Friday morning where we met at St. Pancras International all ready to board the Eurostar. Aimee had provided each of us with our own personalised boxes filled with personalised biscuits, sweets and bridal games (and our pink bride tribe pencils) to keep us entertained on our journey.
Dress Rehearsal: As soon as we arrived in ‘Parieeee’, we had a quick change at our hotel to get ready for the Bridal Party Lunch. Wow, what a lunch this was!! 7 hours in the most incredibly decorated private room all by my MOH Aimee-Rose and Bridesmaid Basma. Upon arrival I burst into happy tears at the sight of the most exquisite room, seeing my MOH and BM while a song Paul wrote was playing in the background. It was sensational, I mean the table display was just stunning. Everyone found their seats by the finding their names on their gigantic gift boxes that Aimee had organised. Full of the most incredible goodies – Jo Malone, PatchandPouch, HA Design pjs, Ayla Skin, Nars, Philip Kingsley, Raise and Replenish, REN Skincare, Sundaebody, VibeyandBleu, Luviss and more! 7 hours of drinking (many shots), eating, games, dancing, singing and the most beautiful poem about me, it was a lunch we will all never ever forget. The BEST!
Opening Night: We somehow managed to go back to our hotels for a quick change, ready to party ‘Italian style’ at Noto! There were live singers and musicians performing as we partied the night away with our sparklers, dancing on the tables.
Matinee: Day 2 started with a pink limo picking us up from our hotel! Yes, a PINK limo!!!! Aimee had personalised pink bottles of bubbles with ‘Drunk in Love’ emblazoned on them. All the hens were wearing pink and I was in white. I honestly couldn’t stop smiling at how amazing they all looked wearing my favourite colour and styling it in their own way. We all went for a photo shoot in front of the Eiffel Tower, followed by lunch at the beautiful Gigi!
The Last Dance: This was the official last night of the Hen and we had a reservation at the intimate and discreet restaurant – Lapérouse. It was a candlelit dinner with live music and delicious cocktails.
The Encore: Seven of us (family) stayed for an extra night and spent the day shopping and walking around the street of Paris. Finishing the most beautiful weekend at the most beautiful restaurant LouLou’s for dinner. Wow, what a weekend!
Where we ate…
This group of Hens absolutely LOVE to eat, so we ate our way around Paris and the food was MAGNIFIQUE.
Day 1: Lunch at the beautiful Siena restaurant and dinner at the vibrant Noto.
Day 2: Lunch at Gigi with incredible food and beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower and the final dinner at the mythical Lapérouse. A few of us stayed for one more night in the city of love and went to one of my favourites; Loulou.
What we packed…
My suitcase was full of everything white! My sister created a look-book for the weekend – I know, what a dream! I am very lucky that she is such a fashionista. All my hens packed pink for the Lunch at Gigi, the dress code being ‘Pretty In Pink’. A nod to my favourite colour. A few of the brands that I wore: Magda Burtrym, Chanel, Nadine Merabi, Mach and Mach, Jimmy Choo, The Dolls House Fashion, Zara, Rosantica, COUCOO, Six Stories and Oh Polly.
Best moment of the hen weekend…
My sister/MOH Aimee-Rose organised the ultimate hen party, it was a dream from start to finish. Not only was it the most magical and fabulous celebration for me, she made the trip memorable for everyone. I am still overwhelmed with how incredible it all was now, I was, and still am, so emotional about it as it was the most perfect weekend with the women I love sharing so much joy. I also loved that my mummy was there as well! Every little detail was thought about and I can’t thank my sister enough for the most memorable trip ever!! And… thank you to my bridesmaid Basma (who is like our sister) for helping Aimee to make this weekend PHÉNOMÉNALE! I am so lucky to have the most fabulous women in my life.
